MAJOR ACTIVITIES:
The activities will include Five projects:
1.The Sub- Saharan Agro-Forestry Project will be in the five regions of Savannah, North East, Northern, Upper West, and Upper East.
OUR MISSION:
We stand to protect the biodiversity for the present and future generations through Agro-forestry farming, plantation establishment, and maintenance. We will promote and empower the communities to stop the advancement of the Sahara Desert, and reclaim the desert lands into arable lands for food cropping. Through this gesture the deserted areas will quickly come out of poverty and move to the road of sustainable livelihoods.
The primary goal is to implement the Sub-Saharan Agro-Forestry project to halt the advancement of the desert in Ghana by engaging in Agro-forestry farming. The Ghana Sub-Saharan Agro-Forestry project intends cultivating 5,000 acres of tree plantation and cover cropping for each year on degraded lands. This brings the total land area covered to 25,000acres after the project’s first phase.
Our secondary aims are to generate rural employment. Third to reclaim the desert into arable land for food cropping, maintain the lands in good shape for the future generations to inherit. These activities will lead to identifying, restoring, protecting, and managing sustainably some of the degraded lands and deserts.
The project will require the use of agricultural machinery, vehicles, equipment, and buildings. Hence our request for financial assistance of (US$ 198,715,315) and working capital of (US$ 5,565,899) for the full span of the project in West Africa.
